Pinpoint Communications Becomes Second Carrier in State to Use AirCore Platform Switching System for Wireless Network

COLUMBIA, Md., September 22, 1998–TECORE™ today announced that it has received a new contract to supply its AirCore® Platform to Pinpoint Communications, an independent telecommunications company that successfully bid in the FCC's PCS D-Block auction as Cambridge Telephone Co.

Pinpoint Communications is the second wireless carrier in Nebraska to deploy the AirCore Platform, joining Wireless Telecommunications Company (WTC) of Scottsbluff.

Under terms of the agreement, TECORE will supply its AirCore Platform to Pinpoint Communications for its GSM-1900 network. Pinpoint owns the license to provide PCS service in the McCook, Neb., Basic Trading Area (BTA), which covers more than 6,600 square miles including the counties of Chase, Hayes, Dundy, Hitchcock, Furnas, Rawlins, Decatur, and Red Willow. Deployment will begin in the fourth quarter of 1998.
