TECORE
Unveils In-Building Wireless Switching Platform for Corporate Enterprise
Market
Industrys smallest multi-protocol
switching solution to debut at Wireless 2000
COLUMBIA, MD February 23, 2000
TECORE®, a leading supplier of software-defined, scalable
switching solutions, announced today the availability of an in-building
wireless switching platform based on its AirCore® product for
the fast-growing corporate enterprise market. The AirCore combines
all of the capabilities of a network switching subsystem (NSS) with
support for high-speed data and IP protocols in a compact package.
The AirCore can be deployed in a variety of applications including
wireless office, wireless PBX and campus networks.
TECORE will be demonstrating its innovative switching solutions
in booth #8157 at Wireless 2000, Feb. 28 to March 1 in New Orleans.
AirCore is the first and only switching platform on the market that
can support multiple wireless protocols, including GSM, CDMA, TDMA
and AMPS, as well as a fully integrated prepaid application and
tandem switching for long-distance service. The AirCore switching
platform for the corporate enterprise market include software applications
for standard wireless network elements such as Mobile Switching
Center (MSC), Home Location Register (HLR), Visitor Location Register
(VLR), Authentication Center (AuC), Equipment Identity Register
(EIR) and Operation & Maintenance Center (OMC)resulting
in a fully functional NSS in a package measuring only 19" wide,
5-1/4" high, and 15" deep.
AirCore can interface to Base Station Subsystem (BSS) equipment
from other suppliers via standard interfaces such as the GSM A interface
or CDMA IOS. Corporate end-users will be able to access and modify
their service profiles through web-based Internet access for such
tasks as changing their call forwarding numbers. In addition, the
AirCore can be connected directly to a corporate PBX through IP
or circuit switched interface. AirCore supports interfaces such
as ISUP and ISDN PRI, as well as MAP and IS-41 protocols for seamless
integration with the existing wireless networks and the PSTN. This
provides networking between multiple AirCore switching platforms
in a corporate campus and to the wireless network for seamless
roaming and handover.
"AirCore provides the most compact switching solution for corporate
enterprise applications with features comparable to systems several
times its size," said Steve Chen, TECORE vice president of
marketing. "This leading-edge architecture dramatically reduces
the costs of deploying wireless service in the corporate environment
while maintaining full integration with existing corporate PBX and
wireless network."
