AirCore® System Adds Innovative Feature Solutions
COLUMBIA, Md., March 15, 2002 – TECORE™ Wireless Systems, a leading wireless system provider for scalable networks around the world, today announced that it will be introducing its newest features of the AirCore® Mobile Switching Center (MSC) system at Wireless 2002 beginning March 18 in booth 2273. Continuing its tradition of providing smaller operators with cost-effective innovative features, TECORE will unveil its integrated Short Message Service Center (SMSC) for the AirCore system. The integrated SMSC offers the flexibility of short messaging without the external messaging center.

The explosive growth of SMS in Europe and Asia has driven wireless carriers around the world to add the ability to send brief text messages over their own networks to capitalize on the phenomenon. Yet as the number of messages begins to grow exponentially, one of the major bottlenecks in the system becomes messaging between the MSC and the SMSC. By supporting the SMSC function internally, the AirCore system optimizes the process of delivering messages to subscribers, while also supporting external interfaces for e-mail, Internet, and other ancillary services. Used in conjunction with TECORE’s integrated Prepaid system, the integrated SMSC can also be used to provide balance notification and other important messages to prepaid subscribers.
